The Origin Story

Why we do this

It started with a simple, slightly absurd observation: Fishtown and the edge of Kensington have more than twenty breweries, cideries, and taprooms packed into a few square miles. That's not normal. That felt like something worth doing something about.

So on the Fourth of July, 2025, a group of us set out on foot at noon to see how many we could hit in a day. One drink at each place — enough to actually experience it, not so much that we'd never make it to the next one. No car, no rideshare, no shortcuts. Just walking, all day, in the middle of a Philadelphia summer.

Turnout was better than expected, and most of the group stuck it out for nearly the whole route, finishing the night with burgers at Johnny Brenda's. It worked well enough that it couldn't be a one-time thing.

A year later, in August 2026, we came back and did it properly: the full twelve-stop loop through Fishtown and Kensington, one drink each, noon to nearly midnight. Fewer people showed up this time, but we picked up a few new friends along the way — which is really the whole point.

There's no schedule beyond "next summer," no membership, no sign-up. If you know someone who was there, you'll probably hear about the next one. We're already planning 2027.
